-50% discount for .ME extensions

The Registry in charge of .ME (nic.me) extensions is offering a -50% promotion in creating new .ME domains. Domain transfers and renewals are not affected by this promotion.

This means creating new .ME domain names are on sale at $12.00, or 7£, (excluding tax) for A rates until February 1st 2010.

The registries in charge of .ME domains (nic.me) and .IN domains (registry.in) are having a sale on their domains, which lets us provide them to you at half price. Transfers and renewals are not covered by this promotion.

In short:

.ME domain creations will only cost €8 ($12, £9) excl. VAT until December 31st 2009
.IN domains will also cost just €8 ($12, £9) excl. VAT until January 31st 2010

The price for .me domain transfers has been lowered from $21 to $10 (€14 to €7, £10.5 to £6) under a rates and $18 to $9 (€12 to €6, £9 to £5) under B to D rates

As a reminder, the transfer of a .me domain name adds one year to the expiration date of the domain name, and allows you to benefit from all of Gandi's services. During the operation, an authorization code (auth_code) will be requested from you, which you will first need to obtain from your current provider.

How can you get your .ME domain at Gandi?

We have started taking orders today so that you have a better chance of getting the domain that you want. This is because there is a pre-reservation period before the "official" opening date, which will be on July 17th at 5PM (GMT). If someone else got the domain before you (they are sold on a first-come, first-served basis), we will refund your prepaid account for the pre-reservation order.

Note that as of July 17th, in the morning, registrations will occur normally.

There are no restrictions for .ME domain names (which is the ccTLD for Montenegro), though Gandi will not be offering Premium (reserved) .ME or second-level .ME domains.
